About the event
The Hot Club of Clowntown play Manouche-Swing in the style made famous by 1940’s guitar virtuoso Django Reinhardt. The band is made up of accomplished musicians who have played professionally for many years for a diverse range of artists, such as Van Morrison, Richard Hawley, Peter Green (Fleetwood Mac), Tanita Tikaram, Duane Eddy and many many more besides. The music they play ranges from fast swing to slow shuffles and ballads, from Gypsy Bossanova to traditional Tzigane waltzes and everything in-between. The ‘Le Pompe’ rhythm that underpins this fine music will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face. Powered by two guitars, the music is guaranteed to get your feet tapping and your pants swinging.
The lineup this Thursday will be: Dan Lowndes-Smith - Guitar. Bryan Day - Guitar and Vocals. Kate Whittaker - Double Bass. Andrew Flude - Brushes and Snare.
